Tenvelo

Tenvelo for gift shops

A shop till that knows what's left on the shelf.

Stock that goes down with every sale, orders to your suppliers in the same place, and a till that doesn't stop when the line does. On the Android tablet you already have, with no monthly fee for the till.

A day with Tenvelo

From the wholesale order to cashing up.

  1. The Saturday afternoon

Big buttons laid out the way your shop is. Find anything by name, or type its code straight in.

    The till →

  2. The delivery in the back

Raise the order to your supplier, mark it received when it turns up, and the stock goes up by what arrived.

    Stock and suppliers →

  3. “Have you got another one of these?”

The count at your shop is on the till, so the answer doesn't need a trip to the stockroom.

    Stock and suppliers →

  4. Down to the last two

Set the level where you'd want to reorder for each item, and see what's below it before you ring the supplier.

  5. When the line goes down

Old buildings, one broadband line. The till keeps selling on the tablet and catches up when it's back.

  6. Closing up

A blind cash count, the over or short worked out, and the day's takings ready for the accountant.

When the wifi drops

The signal drops. The queue never notices.

Plenty of tills stop when the internet does, and you only find out with a queue in front of you. Tenvelo does the work on the tablet in your hand, so a dead router, one bar of 4G in a field, or a cellar with none at all is just a normal shift.

  • The festival field
  • The cellar bar
  • The van between pitches
  • The router that gives up at noon on a Saturday

Questions

Questions people ask.

Is Tenvelo right for a shop rather than a café?
It is, if each thing you sell is one item with one price — gifts, cards, homeware, books, bottles. Tenvelo was built for cafés and bars first and shares the same stock control, tills and reports. What it can't do yet is sizes and colours holding their own stock, and selling by weight; both are on the roadmap and we'd rather say so than have you find out in week one.
Can I use a barcode scanner?
Yes, if you use your own product codes. A scanner types into the till's search box like a keyboard, so scanning a label you printed finds the item. Reading the maker's barcode off the box is on the roadmap.
Does it keep track of stock?
Yes, at each shop. Every sale takes the count down, deliveries put it back, and you can count a shelf and let Tenvelo work out the difference. If the count says zero and there's one in your hand, you can still sell it.
Can I run two shops?
Yes. Each shop has its own tills, its own stock counts and its own prices if you want them, under one account and one set of takings.
